Compound — Terms of Service
These are the terms for using Compound, the strength-training app published by Compound Training Ltd, 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh EH2 4AN, a company registered in Scotland. Using the app means you agree to them. They are written in plain words on purpose.
What Compound is
Compound builds and adjusts a strength-training program and explains every number it gives you. It is a training tool, not medical advice, and not a substitute for a coach or a doctor. Check with a doctor before starting a strength program if you have a health condition or an injury, and stop if something hurts. You decide what to lift; the app suggests.
Free and Pro
Following a program is free: starter programs, Freestyle, logging, Progress, medals and every reason, with no account and no time limit. Pro builds the program for your goal and adjusts it as you train. Pro is a subscription bought through Google Play (and, when it ships there, the App Store), billed by that store under its own terms.
- Trial. Pro is free for four weeks from your first logged session or from install, whichever is later, with no card. When the trial ends, Pro switches off unless you subscribe. Nothing you logged is lost.
- Renewal and cancellation. A subscription renews until you cancel it in the store's subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next charge; Pro stays on until the period you paid for ends. There is no fee to cancel.
- Refunds follow the store's refund policy, since the store took the payment. Where the law gives you a right to a refund, it applies.
- Founder pricing is a lower yearly price offered to early subscribers and kept for as long as that subscription runs without a break.
- Prices are shown in the store in your currency and may change for new subscriptions; a change never applies to a running period you have paid for, and you will be told before a renewal at a new price.
Your data
Everything you log stays on your phone. There is no account and no server holding your training. What leaves the device is described in the privacy policy, and your subscription status is held by the store. You can back up, export and delete your data at any time from the app.
Using the app
Compound is for your own training. Don't try to break, copy or resell it, or use it to harm anyone. We may stop serving an install that abuses the service, and we will say why.
What we promise, and don't
We work to keep the app correct and available, and every change it makes to your program carries its reason. We can't promise it is free of mistakes or suits every body. To the extent the law allows, Compound Training Ltd is not liable for injury or loss arising from training decisions you make; nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters to you, the app will say so before the change applies, and the date at the top of this page moves. Continuing to use the app after that is agreement to the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction, without taking away any protection you have as a consumer where you live.
